There are many interesting terms that we come across our daily life and little do we know about their origins. Let us try to find out the origins for a few of the most commonly used words. Marathon – we all know that marathon means to run. These days “midnight marathon” has gained popularity with many people participating and supporting various causes. The word “marathon” is said to have come from an ancient legend of Greece, of a person named Pheidippides who was a Greek officer of arms (known as ‘Herald’). Making trigonometry easy to learn

Trigonometry is one of the branches of mathematics that is associated with angles of triangles. Trigonometric functions are used to relate the angles of a triangle to its lengths of the sides. We are introduced to the various trigonometric functions in our high school. Sine, cosine and tangent are the most familiar trigonometric functions that we come across. Is there a need to mandate seat belts in school buses?

Every day splashes spine chilling news about road accidents especially the ones about the school buses. This is followed by a line stating that a specific number of students killed while another lot seriously injured and a few left with minor scars and bruises. Such accidents trigger the debate across the nation on whether or not allowing mandatory seat belts in the school buses. The families of the innocent victims have to resort to legal action against the school authorities. But would this suffice the cause?  Can this stop the occurrence of the accidents? No, but certain precautionary measures can prevent the happening of the great harm.
